- So, God’s Rainbow, an Adventist Gay and
Lesbian Ministry, was founded on the Church’s position statement on homosexuality announced by the General
Conference in 1999. Under the direct guidance of the San Francisco Central Church leadership and supported by the Central California Conference, the ministry seeks to reach as many people as possible with the good news of God’s love and salvation,

- and to provide resources, support and education to Adventist families and church leaders.
- The mission is straight forward: To help
- fulfill the Seventh-day Adventist mission in
- these latter days by reaching out to those
- who experience same gender attraction and
- introducing them to the love, peace and
- comfort of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
- The position is biblical: God at creation
- designed human sexuality to be expressed
- only in loving, mutually consenting acts
- between a man and a woman within the
- boundaries of marriage. While we do not
- condone or approve acts or attitudes that are
- in violation of God’s principles, we fully
- accept the work of the Holy Spirit to convict
- a person’s heart.
- The goals are far reaching: 1) To provide
- an appropriate environment where those
- with same gender attraction who are serious
- about developing a personal relationship
- with Christ can be nurtured spiritually,
